The Dec Scanner roof moisture meter detects and measures leaks within the roof structure. With three sensitivity ranges and a maximum penetration depth of 152 mm (6″), the Dec Scanner enables the inspection of a wide range of roof membranes and insulation thicknesses. The measured values are displayed immediately and a flat roof area of up to 100,000 square metres can be reasonably covered in one day. Easy and safe to use, with no regulatory restrictions or operating licences required, the Dec Scanner is ideal for detecting water leaks and checking the integrity of roofing materials. #### How does it work? The Dec-Scanner recognises and evaluates the moisture conditions in roof systems by non-destructive measurement of the electrical impedance. An electronic low-frequency signal is generated, which is transmitted into the material to be tested via one of the two electrodes integrated in the rubber electrode mat and received by the second electrode. The strength of this signal varies in relation to the moisture content of the material to be tested. The Dec-Scanner determines the strength of the current and converts it into a reference value for the moisture content.
