The Tramex Concrete Moisture Encounter CME5 is an analogue handheld electronic moisture meter used for accurate, instantaneous and non-destructive testing of moisture content in concrete and cementitious slabs and screeds, providing equivalent readings for cement and anhydrite using the carbide method. The Concrete Moisture Encounter CME5 determines this instant and accurate quantitative measurement of moisture content using gravimetric testing as the basis. This concrete moisture analyser tests concrete to a depth of approximately 20mm (3⁄4″) in the slab.

The CME5 concrete moisture meter also provides readings comparable to the carbide method for concrete and anhydrite substrates or screeds. Thanks to the comparable measured values, this moisture analyser is suitable for carrying out concrete moisture tests in accordance with ASTM F2659.

The CME5 is a high quality moisture meter for concrete and an indispensable tool for non-destructive testing of concrete for professionals in the concrete coating or flooring industry to prevent moisture problems on concrete floors.

The use of the CME5 can be extended with the optional concrete moisture probe, which determines the quantitative moisture content in the concrete up to a depth of 100 mm (4″) on site. The CME5 is included in several concrete moisture test kits.

Moisture mapping & data documentation

The results of concrete moisture measurements can be visualised with the Tramex Meters app and converted into moisture maps, reports and diagrams. Thanks to the Bluetooth connection to mobile devices, GeoTag test results can also be created, saved and shared.

Concrete moisture analyser - Design

The Tramex Concrete Moisture Encounter CME5 detects and evaluates the moisture conditions within the slab or screed by non-destructive measurement of electrical impedance. An electronic low frequency signal is transmitted into the material under test via the electrodes in the base of the device. The strength of this signal varies in proportion to the amount of moisture present in the material. The Tramex CME5 concrete moisture meter determines the strength of the current and converts it into a moisture content for concrete slabs and a comparative value for other cement screeds, which is shown on a large, clear analogue display.
