Form CU-1M greyscale chart

This is a sealed, large area chart designed for brush or roller application. The overall dimensions are 610 x 946 mm (24 x 37-1/4 inches). It has six stripes on a white field, ranging in colour from very light grey to black. The stripes are numbered 1 to 6, representing evenly spaced steps of increasing contrast. The opacity of the applied coating is given as the number of the darkest stripe that is completely (or almost completely) covered at a given coating thickness or spread rate. The surface is flat and textured so that the roller cannot slip during application. The form CU-1M is required in ASTM D 5150.
