Karsten Rohr penetration test

The TQC Karsten Tube Penetration Test (Water penetration tester according to Karsten) is a simple test for Measurement of the degree of water penetration into building materials such as concrete, stone and plaster (water absorption coefficient).

The test consists of a glass tube filled with water, which is glued to the test material with plasticine. The water pressure is then applied to the surface. Over time, a scale shows how much water has penetrated the surface.

Scope of delivery

• 3 tubes for horizontal surfaces
• 3 tubes for vertical surfaces
• (or another combination of 6 tubes in total, as desired)
• a water bottle
• a marker
• Putty to place the tubes tightly on the surface
