Printing ink proof sheets and paper test inks

Printing ink proof sheets
These sheets are in seven different types of paper available and offer a Variety of substrates for testing printing ink quality. Due to their different absorbency and texture they are also suitable for testing other coatings.
The specified weights, densities and measured values are nominal values and/or approximate values.
Sheet size: 5 x 7-5/8 inch (127 x 194 mm)
Ink: Deep black (Jet Black). Non-bleeding
Leneta paper test inks
For the evaluation of Mottling (Mottle), Absorption resistance (holdout) and Porosity of coated and uncoated papers
These test inks provide a quick and easy way to monitor variations in paper structure and porosity from batch to batch. Both Inks with both high and low penetration requiredas the Penetration quality of the ink must correspond to the holdout of the paper surface to be tested must. Coated papersthat have a relatively high holdout require a Ink with high penetration to achieve a sufficiently strong colour and speckle pattern. to receive. Uncoated papers with low holdout require a Low penetration ink to avoid too much colour covering any mottle or holdout differences would. The following are examples of test samples that were obtained using the two printing inks and illustrate their special properties:
Test method: The ink is applied to the paper to be tested using a spatula or a drawdown applicator. After one minute, the ink is removed by scraping off most of the ink with a ruler and carefully wiping off the rest with a clean paper towel. The resulting test sample is visually inspected for stains and porosity. To obtain an instrumental value for porosity, the CIE-Y reflectance or densitometer values of the coloured and uncoloured areas are measured and then calculated:
